Learn everything you want to know out the inside of a desktop computer
Lets start with the different parts:
Motherboard:
The motherboard is sometimes alternatively known as the mainboard, system board
A motherboard, like a backplane, provides the electrical connections by which the other components of the system communicate, but unlike a backplane, it also connects the central processing unit and hosts other subsystems and devices.A typical desktop computer has its microprocessor, main memory, and other essential components connected to the motherboard. Other components such as external storage, controllers for video display and sound, and peripheral devices may be attached to the motherboard as plug-in cards or via cables, although in modern computers it is increasingly common to integrate some of these peripherals into the motherboard itself.

CPU / Processor
The central processing unit (CPU) is the portion of a computer system that carries out the instructions of a computer program, and is the primary element carrying out the functions of the computer or other processing device.
RAM / Memory
Random-access memory (RAM) is a form of computer data storage. Today, it takes the form of integrated circuits that allow stored data to be accessed in any order with a worst case performance of constant time
Harddrive / Storage
A hard disk drive (HDD) is a non-volatile, random access device for digital data. It features rotating rigid platters on a motor-driven spindle within a protective enclosure. Data is magnetically read from and written to the platter by read/write heads that float on a film of air above the platters.
DVD-ROM
Basically a internal DVD Player that reads most DVD discs. In the case of a DVD-ROM it read Data/Files for software install and storing digital photos
Power Supply (PSU)
The PSU powers all the computer's main components. There are many different PSUs that can come with anywhere up to 1500 watts for a standard desktop computer. T he PSU is also sometimes referd to as the most important part of a computer.
Case
Video / Graphics
PCI /PCIe Slots
Found on the Motherboard for the purpose of adding additional abilities to the computer. i.e. a Wireless PCI card was install to allow the computer to connect via Wifi
USB
USB can connect computer peripherals such as mice, keyboards, digital cameras, printers, personal media players, flash drives, Network Adapters, and external hard drives. For many of those devices, USB has become the standard connection method.
