Storage - Hard drive
Upgrading the Storage in your computer can be very difficult and dangerous without professional help. Here at Beta Computers we have a workshop setup to give a couple of options a storage upgrade.
Firstly our most popular option: We clone your current hard drive to a new larger one. This to great because you do not need to reinstall anything! You get your computer back and it just has more storage space and in some situations a faster hard drive. When a laptop is upgraded this way it can increase the life of the laptop. Hard drives are the most common thing to fail in a laptop.
Some of our clients will also get their old hard drive put into a drive enclosure this means they have a complete backup of their computer upto the date of the upgrade.
The second option is to install a secondary hard drive. This is good if you store a lot of media i.e. a movie and music Library. This way you can have a hard drive free of windows files and allows for different security options and sharing options. It is also good for when the next upgrade is needed or a new computer is purchased in the future.
